Mothers day weekend three of my mini lop females gave birth! Athena, Bonnie, and Sage, all had beautiful, healthy litters. Athena's litter was sired by my mini lop male, Fyedka. Bonnie's litter was sired by my mini lop male, Alfie. Sage's litter was sired by my mini lop male, Jelly Bean.
There were some bumps along the way, unfortunately we lost a few babies. But the remaining kits are all doing well.
This proud mama is peeking her head in checking things out! Athena had a litter of 6 beautiful kits on Saturday, May 9th. From what I can see most of them have some of her stunning orange coloring in their coats. I'm very excited to watch them grow and to see their different littler personalities!
It looks like there are a few tort babies and some spotted. A couple are really big and the others are a bit smaller, so I'm not sure if they're peanuts or just not getting as much milk. I think I'm going to start giving them some formula so they can get to a healthier weight.
This little guy looks like he's going to be broken orange. :)
I'm really excited to see all their colors when they start maturing.
She hasn't lost any babies yet and I'm really happy about that.
Athena's a really good mom and puts out some gorgeous colors!
They're a beautiful litter with really pretty colors and markings!
This litter is actually a combined litter. My female, Sage, gave birth to 9 kits total. She kept pulling babies out on the wire and dismembering them. She killed 5 kits total. I decided to move her remaining 4 kits over to Bonnie, because at the time Athena hadn't given birth yet so she was my only available mother to foster. Bonnie gave birth to 5 kits total. So with Sage's kits Bonnie is now raising 9 kits. They are all doing well and appear to be healthy. Bonnie is a very protective mother so I haven't been able to get a good look at them, but they all appear to be healthy.
Bonnie was keeping her eye on me, making sure her babies were all okay.
Thanks for checking out my post!
